  8 July - UNCTAD started to implement joint programmes in the "Delivering as One" pilot projects in Cape Verde and Rwanda. Assistance is carried out within the Chief Executives Board (CEB) Inter-Agency Cluster on Trade and Productive Capacity, in which UNCTAD has a leading role and which aims at ensuring a greater development impact at the country level in the context of the United Nations system-wide coherence´s reform.
 4 July - UNCTAD Secretary-General Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi met with and welcomed to the organization 15 new staff members, representing 10 different nationalities.
 10 June – Dr. Supachai met in Geneva with Lesotho´s Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Bethuel Mososili, briefing him on UNCTAD XII and on implementation of the conference outcome, which is now under way. They also discussed progress towards the MDGs.
 28 May – Dr. Supachai participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the African Fair 2008, a side event of the fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV). At the conference, which promotes high-level policy dialogue between African leaders and development partners, the UNCTAD SG chaired a session on boosting economic growth.
